DEAR my friends,
Here is the Gospel for us today according to St. Mathew 11:11-15
Jesus said to the crowds: “Amen, I say to you, among those born of women there has been none greater than John the Baptist; yet the least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he. From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent are taking it by force. All the prophets and the law prophesied up to the time of John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is Elijah, the one who is to come. Whoever has ears ought to hear.”
This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to You Lord Jesus Christ.
The Gospel today proclaims Jesus Christ who praises John the Baptist as the greatest person born. Why? Because in the life of John the Baptist we can see the power of His Holy Spirit. He overcomes fear with faith, despair with hope, and every form of hatred, violence, jealousy, and prejudice with love and charity towards all.
John the Baptist proclaims Jesus Christ even in the midst of suffering and violence. He is the martyr for Jesus Christ.
In Perpetual Adoration of the Eucharist Jesus Christ calls us to proclaim the joy of the Gospel. There we bear testimony to the joy of the Gospel in the midst of daily challenges, contradictions, and temptations which come our way as we follow Jesus Christ, the Lord.
Let’s pray: Lord Jesus Christ, may we proclaim the joy of the Gospel by loving our enemies, being joyful in suffering, being patient in temptations, pardoning injuries, and showing comfort and compassion to the hopeless and the helpless in our daily lives, now and forever. Amen.
While recording the next musical album of mine at Ngesrep Semarang – it’s why this reflection is late to be sent –
